Warm Thanks
To Lieutent-Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Hassan (Ahmed Dheere).
Dear comrade Ahmed Dheere;
I share with the many warm & whole-heartedly thanks to you sir
from Somalilanders and those with humanity on your brave moment
in 1988. My good sir, mass murder being as the intentional killing
of innocent people. Any law that is against the conscience of society
is no law at all and it must be ignored by all means. Here we have
a story of a man who was instructed to take "willfully"
the lives of thousands of innocent and defenseless people. He was
in legal terms instructed to kill. He was instructed to commit mass
murder in 1988 on a mission to aerially bombard civilians in Hargeisa,
Buroa and suroundings, the price of which could have been his very
soul and conscience. But the God that lived in him refused to commit
that atrocity. The very core of humanity is defined by his actions-which
were to save the lives of the innocent and the defenseless vulnerable
group (women & children).
This is not only the case of bravery but also the prime example
of humanity. We know we are human when we see that amongst us there
still live such souls that know well hurt and pain, souls that still
dances to the chord of peaceful memories. Ahmed Dheere is a hero
amongst heroes. He was further aware that by saving the innocence
he was endangering his very own life but that didn't stop the call
of his sense and conscience. We are good people because of you comrade
and for that we are grateful.
On behalf of the society of Somaliland in diaspora and all those
who value humanity at large, I send you my sincere and heartfelt
thanks for being brave to save a nation, thank you great sir, thank
you in many ways. Our deepest gratitude is in no way measurable.
We wish to encourage you to further share your story not only with
us-the saved-but also with the world to create awareness and educate
people about the untold misery that took place in Somaliland way
back.
Thank you once again...
Kind regards,
Saeed Furaa,
