The actual place where the battle took place was KM4 intersection where AMISOM peacekeeping forces particularly the Ugandan people’s defense force is stationed.
The confrontation was in point of fact between the Ugandan troops stationed in the area around KM4 roundabout and the armed Islamic movement of Al-Shabab, the loss of the battle is gradually emerging.
The town was motionless and the weapons used by both the fighting sides were earsplitting and could be heard almost in the entire city, some of the mentionable weapons which they were exchanging include heavy machine guns, light machine guns, mortars, and rocket propel grenades.
The entire residents of the districts which are close to the war zone were flabbergasted because they could the sounds of the bullets from close range since they are close to KM4.
So far 4 people were reported to have deceased in the stray bullet which have missed their targets and landed on the abodes of innocent people some of the place where stray mortars hit include Bulahubey a section of Wadjir.
Dawn reports from the medical sources confirm that they have already received some people who were wounded in the battle of overnight after stray warheads landed on their houses. The battle was in action for more than 1hour and, and subside later though some sporadic gunshots could be still heard when people were going to their morning prayers to the mosques.
The AMISOM spokesman major Barigye Bahouku confirmed that their troops stationed in KM4 were attacked.
“Yes it is very right that our boys at KM4 were attacked in the late hours of overnight, and frankly we have sustained no loss, but for sure I cannot verify what amount damage the attackers gained from that incursion we were in unbending defense, and it is not worthy to carry attacks in this holy month of Ramadan it deserves to be fully respected” said major Barigye Bahouku the AMISOM spokesman.
The Islamic movement of Al-Shabab claimed of been behind of that raid of Sunday night carried at the Ugandan peacekeeping forces in KM4.
