Somalia: New administration established for Kismayu town

Muqdisho Sunday, September 07 2008 SMC

The Islamists who have recently taken control of southern strategic seaport town of Kismayu have announced district level administration on Saturday.

After long discussion between the Islamic forces they have ultimately agreed upon an Islamic law administration to be established in Kismayu town the headquarters of the lower Juba region which is also the third largest town in Somalia after Mogadishu and Hargeysa which is now the capital of the self-styled state of Somaliland.

The establishment of administration in the region will not only remain in Kismayu town but also the surrounding districts which entirely fall under the control of the Islamic warriors, who are in control of both the Jubas the lower Juba and the middle Juba regions.

This new administration will completely get rid of the previous local administration which was lively in Kismayu and the surrounding areas. The names of the new administration members are as follows:

1-Seikh Abubakar Al-Zeylici (Provincial commissioner)

2-Abdulqani Mohamed Yussuf (deputy commissioner)

3-Abdurahman Ali Ahmed (head of the security office)
4-Mohamed Sahal Eidle (deputy head of the security office)

5-Abdiweli Adan Dheriyow (head of the financial office)

6-Abraham Ahmed Isse (deputy of the financial office)

7-Khalid Mohamed Adan (head of the sermon office)

8-Adurahman Ahmed Adan (deputy of the sermon office)

9-Shiekh Hassan Yacqub Ali (the head of the information office)

10-Abdifath Abraham Ali (the deputy of the information office)

Sheikh Hassan Yacqub the head of the information office said that what they will rule is nothing other than the holy Quran.

Despite the announcement made by the Islamists who are in control of Kismayu town both the ousted administration and the transition federal government are not contented with this new administration.
