The highest court in the semi-autonomous region in eastern Somalia has sentenced a group of Somali pirates numbering 12 to jail term between 8 to 4 years.

“These group of Pirates were earlier overpowered by Egyptians, after they have hijacked their vessel, and were taken to Cairo but eventually the Egyptian authority has handed over these group of pirates back into the hands of the authority of the semiautonomous region of Puntland” said the Judge of these Pirates Sheikh Moahmaed Abdi speaking to Somaliweyn radio instantly after the verdict, was passed out.

Puntland is the main core and the foster of Somali pirates, the Somali pirates gain lucrative sum of ransom from hijacking the foreign vessels voyaging off the coast of Somalia.
