The Somali presidential spokesman of Hussein Mohammed Mahamud Hubsired remarked about Monday evening confrontations in the Somali capital Mogadishu, and mortars fire at the Somali presidential Villa in Mogadishu.
“It is very right that mortars have landed right at the Somali presidential palace, but have caused the least damages in fact they are just firing I know they have no experience in the field of firing mortars I call it zero accuracy” said the Somali presidential spokesman speaking to Somaliweyn radio through the wire. |
The spokesman verified that the presidential guards have also fired back at exactly where the mortars were coming from.
“We cannot claim the responsibility of the mortars which have killed more than 20 people it was none peace loving ones” said Hubsired meaning the government opponents.
The spokesman also added that the Somali population have come to hate the Al-Shabab group for their brutality, and merciless action within the Somali people.
“What they normally do is firing from where people are densely populated, and immediately change position in case people came to hate them,” said Hubsired.
The presidential spokesman also urged the city dwellers to fight against those who are firing where they are living.
In the battle of yesterday evening more than 20 people have died in the main Bakara market.
Somalia has not had effective central government since Mohammed Siyad Bare was ousted from power in 1991.
