The spring rains have been observed in some locations in Galgadud region in central Somalia after persisting drought, which has shortened the lives of many domestic and wild animals in the region for along time of period.

The rain of overnight has favored both human and animals in the region and the place where it cats and dogs include some location, which come under Balanbal in the region.

Fered and Ahmed Gurey locations, which lay on the frontier between Somalia and Ethiopian, were the places were the droughts had effected a lot and have now received adequate rain.

The other places where the spring rains was observed include some locations surrounding Dabad Village, which had severe scarcity of water in the past days.

“All thanks are due to God the master of the universe, and this rain of last night has caused no effects on ours and on our few remaining livestock,” said Halima Hassan a mother of 7 in the region.

Geographically the spring rain was due to rain on April, but it rained intervals in some parts of the country, including the capital city, which has overnight-received light showers.
