Yemen and Somalia have signed agreements on cooperation in the fields of higher education, providing text books and training educational cadres

Yemen will grant 150 scholarships for Somali students to study in various Yemeni universities.

The agreements were signed during the visit of the Somali president envoy Eideed Abdullah al-Kahnaf, minister of Education who has left here after a few-day visit to Yemen.


Al-Kahnaf handed out a letter to President Ali Abdullah Saleh from his Somali counterpart Abdullah Yusef Ahmed regarding bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the visit, al-Kahnaf met with Yemeni officials at the ministries of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research and Culture to discuss means to boost cooperation in areas such as culture and exchanging visits.
