rmed bandits ambushed travelers along Mogadishu and Baidoa road and opened fire on passengers on board of a lorry, and three of the passengers were immediately wounded.

Some of the safe passengers told somaliweyn radio that they were attacked between Jiro Kulow and jamada which both come under Burhakaba district in Bay region in southern Somalia.

The wounded individuals were admitted at Baidoa general hospital where they are now receiving medical treatments.

“The bandits normally confiscate whatever the passengers’ posses after opening indiscriminate fire at the passengers” said Idiris Isse a driver who often uses the road between Mogadishu and Baidoa

The security situation in the road between Mogadishu and Baidoa have in the last couple months been deteriorating, because of bandits flowing on the road.

“In most cases the brigands never fire warning shot in the air to stop the driver, instead they open random fire” said a mother who very often uses this road.
