Confrontation at wajid district in Bakool region  

Muqdisho, Wednesday, August 13 2008 SMC 

At least one person by the name Adan Kuresh commonly known as Adan black working for the world vision in the capacity of food monitor has died in the town of Wajid district in Bakool region after forces from the Al-Shabab movement and sentries from Wajid district police station exchanged fire.

The combat was in action for almost some 10 minutes, and both sides have exchanged different sorts of weaponries, as Yussuf Abdikadir a resident in the area told Somaliweyn radio.

The deceased man Adan Kuresh was among youngsters who were caught by the forces of Al-Shabab after they have come interior into the town of Wajid and these youngsters were all compelled to lie down and face the ground.

The caught youngsters were ordered not to raise their heads off from the ground, and late Adan Kuresh has slightly uplifted his head off from the ground to ensure what was going on around, but a young chap from the Al-Shabab group who was keeping an eye at these captive juveniles, and half holding the trigger opened fire on late Adan Kuresh who istantly died on the spot.

“We first burry the body of the man then we shall see what will follow next” Dahir Dusay a tribe line elder with the deceased Adan Kuresh told Somaliweyn radio.

There were other two women who were also injured during the crossfire and were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

The Al-Shabab movement is in control of the areas in Bay and Bakool region including the headquarters of Bakool Hudur which its regional adminstraion fled from the town to Baidoa the headquarters of Bay region.
