Mogadishu- A bomb blast has killed at least two people and injured 13 others in Somalia’s southern town of Baidao, police said on Tuesday.
A police officer who declined to be named told Xinhua that the bomb placed along the road exploded as the youth of the town gathered to hold traditional celebrations.
A resident, Ahmed Nur, told Xinhua by phone that the area was targeted because it was where the youth were holding the celebrations.
“Everyone felt panic and shocked when they suddenly heard a huge blast which rocked the area and everyone began to run for his safety,” he said.
No one has claimed responsibility for the latest attack but the militant group al-Shabab has conducted similar attacks in the past.
