Somalia government has confiscated former Alshabaab leader Hassan Dahir Aweys mobile phone and other communication gadgets in an apparent reaction to a recent video deemed critical of the administration.
Aweis was recently live on Facebook where he criticized the government over how it handle ex Alshabaab deputy leader Mukhtar Robow. He had asked the government not to bar Robow from running for a public office.
Aweis has been under house arrest since June 2013. The former militant has in the past four years released videos on his commentary on various topical issues in Somalia. Source: muqdisho online
