A delegation from Somali Football Federation (SFF), led by president Abdiqani Said Arab has arrived in Moscow for the 68th FIFA congress.
The president accompanied by his senior vice president Ali Abdi Mohamed and deputy general secretary Ali Mohamed Ahmed landed at Vnukovo International airport of Moscow just a short while after 03:00 on Sunday morning where they were well-received.
During their stay in Moscow, Somali Football Federation officials will be engaged in a marathon FIFA and CAF duties. On Monday 11th of June, the Somalia delegation will attend CAF confederation meeting which is scheduled to take place at Crowne Plazza.
On 13th of June, Somalia delegation will attend the 68th FIFA congress part I during which a number of football development related agendas will be discussed. The congress will start at 09:00am. FIFA congress part II will follow just after 11:00am.
During the second part of the congress, the 211 FIFA member countries will decide the host country for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Morocco and the United States are fighting for the hosting of the world’s most prestigious sporting event.
Somalia delegation is expected to return home on 15th of June.
